A small group of 8 cubs went sailing with the water activities team at North Harbour. The small number meant no swapping over on the beach. There was a steady nor' easter blowing. Sailing had been cancelled the previous day due to strong winds and choppy conditions. Dark clouds were threatening to the west, but they held off until everyone was in their cars heading home. However, the day was not without drama and excitement. The Gull capsized early on throwing the crew of three into the water. It was soon righted and underway, everyone wet but otherwise ok. The the second 420's tiller broke. With no steering it was a slow tow back to the beach and no more sailing for this one. That left two boats to continue for the afternoon.
