An easy walk along the beach, then a short rise leading to a flat track, mostly duckboards, to Cockle Creek, the most southerly road in Tasmania.
Some are keen to get going and head off after an early breakfast, others take a more leisurely start. Either way it's an easy 2 hour walk and we all arrive well before the mini-buses pick us up at 12.30. Unfortunately there is no food or drink or anything for sale in Cockle Creek. On the way to Hobart we stop at a bakery for pies and a soft drink.
Everyone is looking forward to a hot shower, clean clothes and fresh food. The mood is subdued as we realise that this adventure is now over, we've all made it and tomorrow we'll be back to our normal lives.
