Fee Policies Explained

Scouts NSW collects fees on a half yearly basis, with each registration period called a Trek. Trek 1 2024 is January-June, and Trek 2 July 2024-April 2025.

Membership of Scouts NSW involves a single online payment with two components for each Trek:
  • A Brookvale/Curl Curl Group fee that covers our hall, services such as electricity, water, council rates, insurance, equipment such as tents, canoes, camping gear, trailer registration, building and equipment maintenance, leader training and most weekly meetings. A NSW Active Kids voucher can be used to offset this cost.
  • A Scouts NSW State Membership fee that covers member’s insurance, training, member and property services, communications, promotions, etc.

Scroll down to "Register as a Member" then select either "Returning Member" or "New Member".

New Members

Scouts NSW offers a 6 week no-cost trial period. At the end of this period an invoice is generated and when paid you become a full member. Towards the end of your trial we'll talk to you about getting invested and becoming a full member.

 Brookvale Curl Curl Group Joining Fee

The group does not have an additional joining fee, new members pay the same Group fee as existing members for their first Trek. If you join in the second half of the Trek we will discount the Group fee by 50%.

Scouts NSW Joining Fee

Scouts NSW Joining fees are paid by you when you complete the trial period.
$140 for each 6 month Trek.
There is a one-off $60 New Member registration fee.

Existing Members

Membership of Scouts NSW involves one payment in July this year which covers both Group and Scouts NSW until April 2025 (3 school terms).

Brookvale Curl Curl  Group  Fee

When you register with Scouts NSW each Trek there is a portion of the total fee which goes to the group. You can use one of the NSW Government Active Kids Voucher towards this fee in each Trek.

Additional events such as camps, trips, and so on may have an additional charge as these events are optional and different for each section.

We offer a discount if you become a leader or parent committee member with the Group. More details about the Parent Support Group.
