Scouts is for everyone aged 11–15 looking for adventure and challenge in the world’s largest youth organization. If you’re ready for the thrill of night games, campfires, rock climbing, and abseiling--your patrol is waiting for you!

Thursdays 6.30 to 8.30pm

Today’s Scouts dive into an huge range of outdoor adventures. You’ll master traditional skills like bushcraft and camping, then level up to extreme challenges, from abseiling, canyoning, and overnight hiking to sailing, snow activities, and even flying!

Beyond the trail, Scouts lead the way in:

Creative Arts & Leadership: Performing arts and specialized leadership development.
Technical & Community: Amateur radio, environmental projects, and local service.
Major Events: Massive national gatherings like Cuborees, Jamborees, and Ventures, plus international expeditions and service projects in developing countries.

Time to think about the next Jamboree

With AJ2025 now in the rearview mirror, it’s definitely time to shift gears toward Victoria for AJ2028.
While the 2025 event was a massive success in Maryborough, the next one is coming a little sooner than some expected. Although there was talk of moving to a four-year cycle, Scouts Australia has confirmed that we’ll be sticking to the triennial schedule for the next installment.
Here is the early intel on the 27th Australian Scout Jamboree:
AJ2028: The Details

Location: Elmore, Victoria (on the land of the Taungurung people).
Dates: December 29, 2027 – January 9, 2028.
The Vibe: Victoria hasn’t hosted an AJ since 2007, so the energy is already building. Expect a massive program featuring water activities, the "Fantastic Race" through Bendigo, and trips to Funfields Adventure Park.

Why start planning now? Since it’s only two years away, the timeline for a Scout Group is tighter than it looks:

Eligibility: Current Cubs will be the perfect age to attend as Scouts. It’s a great time to start "selling the dream" to those families.
Fundraising: Plenty of time to start your Jamboree fundraising and stay ahead of the curve.
Leadership & Skills: It’s a good window to focus on those "Outdoor Adventure Skills" (OAS) stages so the youth members are fully prepared for the more technical off-site expeditions.
