How to join Brookvale Curl Curl Scout Group...
Ok, so you have been and checked us out and have decided you want to make our Group, your Group. We think this is fantastic and look forward to you and your family becoming an integral part of Brookvale Curl Curl Scout Group. You should aim to be invested close to the 6th week you attend.
At Brookvale Curl Curl, like every other Group, we invest our members into the movement. Your investiture is a special ceremony where you will be presented with your badges and scarf and are formally welcomed into the Group. You will also make the Scout Promise at this time. The law and promise is what all Scouts live by and it is what defines us. We feel that it is a big part of the reason you want to become a Scout. You may not know it, but you will have learnt a lot about your Law and Promise during your initial weeks with us.

Membership Sign Up

Please sign up for a trial membership. This gives you a no-cost chance to try out Scouts for 6 weeks. It gives you a membership number and allows us to register you in our systems for activities.

Uniform
The shirt is specific to your section and you have a couple of options:
- Online - scoutshop.com.au - the official online store of Scouts Australia
- Online - www.sctscouts.org.au/shop - South Coast and Tablelands Region shop at Port Kembla, phone 02 4274 1099
- A family in the group may be looking at selling a second hand shirt, talk to your leader.
- If you're ok with a second hand shirt you might try this Facebook group www.facebook.com/groups/scout.uniform.eXchange/ Often it will come with the badges already sewn on!
Joining Fee
Payment of the fees are required prior to your investiture and covers the remainder of the initial registration period, called a Trek. Ongoing fees are payable for subsequent Treks. Please see the Fees page for details. The payment portal is brookvale-curl-curl.group.scoutsnsw.com.au/ - scroll down to Register as a Member, then select New Member.
All Ready?
So you have your uniform, your joining fees are paid and application forms are completed and signed? Then let your section leader know and we will co-ordinate your investiture and officially welcome you to the group. You should complete this process within five weeks and be invested on the sixth week.
